Puerto Vallarta ready to prevent incidences amongst travelers with heart illnesses

Recently, the awarded Five Diamonds by AAA, Grand Velas Riviera Nayarit, received the certification “Cardio Protected Space”, an initiative in health and safety, which aims to provide first aid to travellers that have heart health problems. The initiative has been created in order to protect the people during their vacations and ensure they are safe in case of incidences occur.

Now, Puerto Vallarta and entrepreneurs, seek to implement this program enabling establishments and government buildings to have the necessary measures to attend emergencies by heart diseases; therefore defibrillators will be installed in large and small companies which will count on trained staff.

It is important to mention that Cardio Protected Program started in Europe, USA and Japan. Later, it expanded to more establishments all over the world, and most of the companies nowadays have equipment and specialized training to save lives.

Grand Velas Riviera Nayarit, has acquired 4 defibrillators placed strategically within the facilities, and 80% of employees are trained to provide first aid, whilst 20% have the capacity to professionally provide health services to guests with heart disease.

The renowned resort is the first in Latin America to obtain the outstanding world-class certification and it is expected that the effot may be replicated along  the destinations of Puerto Vallarta and Riviera Nayarit, to provide maximum security to visitors during their holidays.
